The Yates Block is a landmark heritage building constructed ca. 1882 BY Jim Yates, one of Victoria’s earliest mayors. It is located on Wharf Street at the head of Yates Street, a block away from each of Bastion Square, Chinatown, and lower Johnson Street.

This spectacular building is 3-storeys facing Wharf Street and 5-storeys exposed facing the harbour to the West. The lower levels of the building have west-facing windows, ground-level loading and feature exposed granite and beam construction.

The Yates Block will be rehabilitated by The Salient Group to reinstate its original historic features, upgrade building structure and systems and to bring this important building back to prominence on Victoria’s waterfront. This repositioning creates a special opportunity to collaborate with an exceptional restauranteur looking to create an exceptional, made in Victoria food & beverage experience in this location.
